Share Your Passion!

This is how many WAHMs get started in an online business. The best tip for this is to write about what you know and whatever you are passionate about. Do you consider yourself an expert in any particular field? Many Moms have left successful careers (or temporarily put them on the 'back burner') in which they have much knowledge to share with those entering the same line of work. Starting a blog or website aimed at inquisitive newcomers to your field, who searching for knowledge is the easiest way for you to get your own feet wet in a new market. You already have all of the knowledge - a great base to build from!

Figure out what type of blog you would like to write and try to keep your blog focused primarily on that theme. If you are new to blogging and unsure of what platform to use, you might want to try Blogger.com or Wordpress.com - both have fee free hosting, support, tools and templates at your disposal. A word of caution though from personal experience of using Blogger. Make backup copies of your posts, in the event that blogger shuts you down for whatever reason.

Your other option, if it is in your budget, would be to pay for your own domain name and hosting, for more complete control over your work. Do not expect to make money blogging overnight - it takes time, which is one of the reasons you should write about something you enjoy. Do some research by reading blogging forums, reading other blogs and articles about blogging. There are many free resources out there - there is no need to spend a fortune right off the bat. Be wary of people who 'guarantee' that their system will help you make money quickly for a fee.

Once you have your blog up and running and have spent a few weeks posting, you can then start to think about monetizing your blog. There are many ways to do this, from adsense ads, to affiliate links, ebay stores and more. There are endless possibilities. Just remember to keep your ads or products on topic with the theme of your blog.

In order to make money, you'll need traffic! An easy way to send traffic in your direction is to write a few articles and submit them to article directories. Here are some links to what I consider to be some of the best resources for bloggers:
