Get Your Blog in a TrafficJam (the good kind)!

There are millions upon millions of blogs riding the 'net highway - way too many to adequately distinguish the good from the bad in a timely manner. So, when a good tool comes along to help weed out those that will only waste my time, I'm all over it!

If you subscribe to (or know about) BlogRush, then you have probably heard about TrafficJam.com - if you have not, then read on! Read my previous post, "Give Your Blog a Shot in the Arm" which is all about BlogRush and why you should use it to grow your blog.

It is important to know that you must be a member of BlogRush in order to have your blog posts appear on the new TrafficJam.com's site. Membership is free, however your blog will be reviewed and accepted only after it has been determined to meet certain quality quidelines.

TrafficJam.com has just been released in public beta, using live data directly from BlogRush. This is a great resource for both bloggers and readers! Readers looking for quality blogs on a particular topic will have a one-stop shopping point, so to speak, where they will have access to thousands of blogs. Bloggers both large and small will benefit - in particular those small-time bloggers will see the playing field leveled a bit as they will have exposure for their great posts, regardless of how much traffic they may have been receiving. Currently, the site updates every 24 hours, but that will eventually move towards hourly updates.

While this site is great for giving your blog posts exposure, it is also a good research tool in that you can now monitor blogs by niche and keep up with what is currently popular and getting the most attention. It's a great source for ideas, especially if you tend to get 'stumped' from time to time. You may find blogs related to your niche that you never knew existed,and will have the ability to share some other great posts with your readers by posting links to the site.
